it all began in my bed, on a sunday after noon. while listening to my ipod and a bed full of magazine clippings. thinking to myself. i can do this. i can so do this. with my passion and creativity, its a wrap! im making a blog and im going to discuss all that is important to me in the arts. fashion and music, included. thinking i can do this, and i did!... and the rest was history!

at this point, i have marked my life. and i was so comfortable in my own skin and loving the person i turned out to be. i give credit to my family and friends. but i also give credit to the God bringing me through so many hard times in my life. Twenty years seems like not long, but trust! I HAVE LIVED AND IM KEEPING IT GOING. THANK GOD!

i want this baby SO bad. you have no idea. i am a camera freak. yea i need a new digital camera, but im over it. as long as it takes pictures, im good. bc that is my go to, carry it around everywhere i go, whip it out, drop it, soldier of a camera. its fine. i dont need to replace it yet. im content. and yes, i do want an old school poloroid camera, too. but a little at a time. i want this digital SLR BAAAAAD. like i would take that on trips with me. i would definitely just get up and go to the city and start snapping pics like a tourist. omg. and i know i can get good shots, and enhance them to make them look so hot. i would blow them up and put them in my room. like i have all this mapped out.... if only i had the camera. if you want to invest in my fund, then i will greatly appreciate it. you would get a one of a kind, dresstoimpressthemirror exclusive. lol. yea i know im pushing it. but i really want it :( wahhh.

as i randomly google thought after thought, sometimes i come across really cool things. yes, i am a geek, we've already established this. get over it. but anyways. i came across this Cazal's video, "somebody, somewhere". the concept is really cool. haha. and the song isnt bad either. somebody does love me, somebody, somewhere. love that.

next year, Ray Ban is releasing their ray ban wayfarer colorize kit. sounds crazy right? but it comes with paint markers and stencils, so you can make your raybans one of a kind. you already know when i cop these, im getting crazy. im going to try and mix colors. make a statement but definitely have mine, oh so cool, get em girl style. whaat?! im going to freak them. especially bc im the one designing them. yea, i dont kow if the world is ready for this. thats why they still have some time to get ready. if thats not enough,... TOO BAD! mmahaaahahahahaa! thats just the way the cookie crumbles, suckerrrssz.

i don't know what it is about them but, i've always loved the gap ads. they are always so intriguing to me. ha! sounds weird, i know. especially with all these high end designers and their couture ads in all of the Elle's and vogues. Gap, Inc always still does it for me. they are very unique. you can always tell a gap ad when you see it, even year after year, when they reinvent themselves. they make simple and clean seems so fulfilling ans extravagant. bizarre! ha. but see for yourself.

'DOWN' by Kehinde Wiley

at Deitch Studios, NYC

"Kehinde Wiley opened his third solo show at Deitch Projects in SoHo last night. The exhibition, DOWN, includes seven large-scale portraits done in Wiley’s signature style. Kehinde Wiley is known for creating his own version of contemporary portraiture that appropriates young African American men in the place of more well known portraits of old world power figures, religious icons etc.. For his newest solo exhibition he has chosen to depict seven young men from Brooklyn in poses inspired by the fallen warriors and saints that appeared in the old 18th and 19th century paintings of Holbein, Mantegna, Houdon, Maderno, Retout and Clesinger. The young men are shown in old traditional poses of religious figures or leaders in the moment of death or repose, but their expressions and dress are wholly their own. The largest of the portraits is a breath taking 25 feet in length and has an asking price of $300,000. The exhibit will be on view until December 20th, 2008." via art observed.

styling is a habit.

its prob the best and worst thing to do on my down time. i come up with possible outfits to wear. the pros about it is, i always have a spare outfit to wear, especially on the running-late-to-work-days. cons, i always seem to think i need something else, like this would be so much cuter, if only i had ... urgh! and i seem to think that a lot. whatevs.

while having one of those heart to hearts, with my JAW, about men and the lack their of in this world ( and no i am not man bashing by any means... the right one just has not seem to come along, thats all )... i made this outfit.

perfection for frolicking in soho on sunday afternoon, just after the leaves fell off the trees, and the chilled wind still gives off that smell of roasted nuts surrounded by smoke. Oh, how i HEART NY !

start off with a tee from wherever, as your base. throw on your cute, comfortable colorful skirt. a cardi on top for a layer, and your worn in, beat up, flat riding boots for the stroll around town. and why not wear your trendy, new, plaid hooded jacket. MATCHING ISNT IN ANYMORE! and accessorize with your moms gold and diamond studs, and your favorite bangles, mixed in from all over.

to me... this is perfection. what do you think?

i dont know whats up with me lately, but ive been craving to wear skirts and dresses. and im so not that "blair" type, whatevs. i got a jones in my bones, i wanna be a flirt in a skirt. oww; get em!! dont you think that would just be so cute, with a little flirty skirt, thick tights, high boots and whatever sweater, tunic, or silkster and leather like what?! take a min... think about it. let it all marinate. im in love with the concept. now its just wear do i find it? here we go again... riiight? urgh. so of course, i run to my magazines... (altho i havent received my nylon yet, disappointment all over the mug!) and the websites. cmon. who really has time to make these unneccessary trips to mall these days, especially with this holiday madness going on right now. im not impressed. i dont not want to spend an hour just looking for parking, another hour trying to find me size, and another hour on a line just to pay. ummm negative. thats not the business! i will find what i need online, if i have the time and the patience, i might reluctantly take that trip. but more than likely i will point and click, and wait for it to arrive in the mail. and there ya go!

"I'm gonna start releasing some of the pieces online starting in January. The jacket from the AMA's, the Warrior hood that I wore at the Dior show and this one here. I actually designed this one and the jacket from the AMA's less than 3 weeks ago! I'm really happy with them! Sidebar: The Louis Sneakers are coming out REEEEETARDED and the Yeezy's drop in march. Sorry for the wait. I swear to you guys all I do is work on design when I get off stage. I want to and will be the real thing. I will not just be a "celebrity designer." Shit has to be good!!! Another shout out to the Kids from the lines Public School and Sandinista, my personal 2 favorites this month , you got busy! Today is a great day, I'm in Amsterdam at a really dope hotel overlooking the river. I got some sleep on the plane so I should have my voice back a bit better. Whoever saw the promo I was doing this week could tell I was beat and my voice was dead but I still had to get up there and do my job. All the controversy aside, life is great. I've already started conceptualizing a tour idea for next summer. I want to do it in the round (perform in the middle of the arena). Ok, gotta bounce, more press to do."
