you know you love me. xoxo.

I REALLY NEED YOU TO PAUSE MY BOOMBOX AND CLICK PLAY ON THE VIDEO!! yes, i do... just because it might be that serious. i need to give you the five minute long preview of the new season of Gossip Girls. This came in just enough time, before we burst with anticipation. This will hold us over this long, labor day weekend. Dont fret, my pet. Monday is just around the corner. Just keep watching it over and over again. I am...

who is that cougar with Nate? smh, ... chuck! aww, Serena! she looks so sad in her shiny beach get up. how can you be sad in EAST HAMPTON. (reminiscing about my weekend there. sigh.) "wonder what she would do if she knew lonely boy wasnt so lonely anymore..." oh, dan! and why do we only get to see Blair, through TEXT MESSAGE? urgh. i hope thats just for the preview and not for the premiere. okay, okay. let me stop now before i get myself worked up.

who will be watching, besides me, on September 1, 2008 at 8pm/7c ?

until next time, peace <3.

im sensitive about my...

what people don't know about me is how much i love art. i don't know why they don't know, or they just don't seem to care about it. but its never EVER bought up. (its always about the fashionista side of me...boo. i just like fashion. its not who i am.) i always refer to artists, or paintings, or simply my camera. but, people just don't seem to get it. ive been told that i "don't look like the type." whatever that means. i dont know what the type would look like but, okay! maybe the type would be a nerd? maybe a techie? maybe a hippie? maybe someone who always has paint, or some type of media on them. guess what...that's me! i may not be a nerd in the sense that i wear glasses (sorry, i have 20/20!) and have a 4.0 gpa. but who cares? i can spend hours in the art section of Barnes and Noble. i google artists, genres, and famous and unknown artists. i go to museums, not as often as i want to. but, im always on the websites. techie...yea, man, thats me too. im always on the computer, figuring stuff out. what looks best with what. even if its changing my settings on my screen, my tab bar from default to purple back to default. hippie at heart and i always have pencil or marker or even paint on me. sometimes it annoys me, but its all for the love of art. okay now that was corny, but its true. lol. whatevs. often, im just sitting in my bed and i start to draw. whether, its block letters of words i just heard on the tv or doodling outfits (most of the time i AM doodling outfits, lol. ok...embarrassing!) but sometimes, if the art gods are on my side, i come up with some really amazing stuff. and being the perfectionist that i am, i will keep going until im done. okay wait, i lied. i will keep going until im not "feeling it" anymore, and then i stop. i have a lot of unfinished works, sad but true. but id rather have unfinished pieces full of potential than look at one and be totally disgusted in the outcome on behalf of me rushing and wanting to finish it. thats not art. thats a deadline. and i dont ever want any of my real work to feel like it was a deadline. thats wack. thats not me. smh.

yes, i love to draw, sketch, play around with graphics. but i am PASSIONATE about photography. i think capturing moments that people forget about or dont even notice is so cool. okay, there goes the nerd in me. but, really! i love looking at pictures; old, new, his, hers, mine, yours. i love looking out into the world and seeing what other people dont see. i find that pictures are like looking at the world in MY point of view. if a bunch of us are all standing in front of a building talking, i might not be looking at the people walking by. (which more than likely, i am. i lovvvve people watching, lol. its soo much fun, mostly hilarious. but, fun, indeed.) i might be staring at the building, but more specifically, one brick. one brick that stands out to me for some reason. whether it has a unusual crack or love birds names written on them in a sharpie. idk, i just like to see things in a different light. i always take pictures. correction, i always take A LOT of pictures.

just recently, ive been introduced to flickr. i mean, ive known about it for a while but, just recently set up an account. its totally private, only for friends. ive very protective of my stuff, lol. what else is new? but ive been doing a lot of editing old pictures that i took, and made them photography. i kinda need feedback. i mean, i like what i do. but, im not sure others will see it as beautiful. it really doesnt matter because if i like them, then why not. *ahem! hence the name DRESS TO IMPRESS THE MIRROR...ahem!* but i want to be skillful as well, not just passionate. ya diigg? ha. (its getting late and its showing in my speech, ha! a lot more ha's than usual, huh? "ha!" i kid.) but, yea.

here's some of my "photography"... feedback anyone? be nice, honest, but constructive. thank you, lol.

its a bird, its a plane.

thank you. thank you. thank you in advance bc your feedback will be greatly appreciated. i will use it to make myself better. it cant hurt to hear what people think of your work. (ha! yea right. whoever said that, "yous a lie" as my country friend say, lol. cough, JAW, cough. its all love tho.) i'll take whatever i can get, whether its "this is crap" to "this is a beauty". hopefully we are leaning more towards "this is a beauty". but, if not, whatevs. im still going to push and strive for greatness. okay, okay. i need to go to bed. im talking crazy, ha! ha!ha!ha!ha! says the delirious blogger. goodnight.

until next time, peace <3.

bizarre monday.

today was a very bizarre monday. maybe its because i had no sleep, or maybe its because saturn isnt aligned with the stars correctly. but, really? nothing BAD happened, but nothing GOOD happened either. i felt like i was in the twilight zone all day. "move in slow motion for me, slow motion for me, move in sllooow motion for me" ... or how about not? anyways. that was basically my disclaimer for how i look in these pics. i felt like blah when i woke up, so my outfit was a reflection. enjoy. (ignore my chapped lips, i just finished eating sweet and sour chicken. yum!)
reflecting my outlook on the day. smh.peep the bangles. three are hand me downs from my gma. the others are my obsessions from urban. altho i am disgusted by them opening one in the mall (read the previous blog about why i hate the mall) i do love them for not making me drive to the city just for some UO lovin'.
i only did this weird angle pose thing bc i wanted you to see my OH SO COMFY wide leg pants by helmut lang. LOVE THEM, no really, LOVE THEM! and my sale belt from jcrew. hehe. i must admit. i do love j.crew the always hold a sista down. lol. sometimes they can be very pricey, yes. but, if you catch a sale, oooowee. im always a happy and satisfied customer leaving there in my preppy threads. haha. loves it. and accessorized with my fav, the fitted white tee. heyyyy! i could really go on and on, about how i love fitted white tees. but, ill save that for another post. for now, im going to the last hoo-rah of the summer (until this weekend at the shore.) later lovers.

until next time, peace<3.

she's ZOE fly.

RACHEL ZOE

Rachel Zoe has to be one of the most powerful, trendsetting stylist out there. No, really....think about it. Rachel Zoe has the reputation of being a style icon herself. but she is also the reason why alot of today's celeb are even thought of as style icons. Rachel Zoe gave them their style, lol. if you want to keep it real, NICOLE RICHIE (love her crazy ass) was styled, tweaked and served a whole new platter of panache. BAM! take that! no more tacky extensions. no more fish net midriffs. and thank god for that. Just for that alone, shes amazing. Her repertoire includes cameron, li lo, mischa, and keira knightly; just to name a few. (disclaimer : do not make fun of my use of first names only basis, i like to pretend. ha!) She personally decides what everyone is wearing, from the dress, to shoes, and earrings, bag, and hair. Now, tell me that is not a stylist. (i would love to be in her position one day, sounds excellent! shopping and spending money all day, and its not even your own. oh dear! replication of heaven, ahh.) And in 2007, she published a style guidebook with Rose Apodaca named Style A to Zoe: The Art of Fashion, Beauty, and Everything Glamour.

Rachel Zoe, like everyone else, hopped on the reality show band wagon. indeed, she did. She has a docudrama on Bravo, based on her career of styling ( OF COURSE! ) including her assistants and her pitiful husband ( not up for discussion. watch the preview, atleast, and you will know what im talking about ). Im not going to lie, I am a reality tv junkie. But, this one is going to be great, i can already see it. ms.cleo status? yes'm. but, really! this is great for all the people like us, fashion blog world. this show is going to be classic. the 30 min preview of the show was already excellent. if you havent seen it, i wont ruin it. but i will show you a special preview (via bravotv.com). The Rachel Zoe Project will come to Bravo September 8. im in there like swimwear, babyy.

But whats MY blog without pics of this fly chick. (via style.com)

who said girls cant wear boys clothes?

from Monday, August 18th to Thursday, August 21, i photographed what i wore.

Monday, i chilled at home until my friend got home from work. then, i went to her house and chilled until THE HILLS premiered. yes, i am a THE HILLS junkie. so what? who cares, so is the rest of America. ps. why is Lo being "super bitchy" these days. idk, man. i wore a white C&C racer back tank w/blue stars. (i have an obsession with stars ever since i was little. prob going to be my first tat! yuppers!) mens jeans (ya know, the "boyfriend" look. ive tried so many women's jeans, i said forget it, i'm shopping mens!) and belt from The Gap. some random sandals that i've had for, like 6 years. lol. i have trouble getting rid of things.

Tuesday, i worked all day. poo. but after work, i hung out at my friends farm. No, its not a real farm, its our ultimate summer chill spot. When i was at work, i was wearing a blue striped dress from H&M and my chunky, Nine West mary janes. but, it was too cold to wear my dress, and too chill to wear my heels. So, i changed into a white Vneck, Ruehl jeans( my one and only pair, just bc of the holes), and my oh-s0-comfy mens Trovata cardi. <3s>

Wednesday
was my day off, yippeeeee! i went to the mall for a bit, altho i really hate the mall. [side note : i hate the mall because its extremely large, packed with so many people, that wind up buying the same thing. its like walking clones. & i dont like that not one little bit. diversity people, uniqueness, HELLO!] i had a lunch date with my friend, kp :) we met up at panera, love that place and love their chicken frontega sandwich. yum. and afterwards, i headed back homie for some townie love. a bunch of my friends and i went to the local bar for some good ol fashioned karaoke fun. and im still lmao'ing thinking about it. i wore a black tube from express, boys army fatigue cargo shorts from old navy, my steve madden wedges, and of course accessories out the yinyang.

Thursday
, back to work. the good thing about my job is theres no real dress code. when my manager hired me, i asked about the dress code and she said "dress like you live in New York." oh yea? that i can do. so, i pretty much anything and everything to work. i love my job, so much fun. i wore a green safari button up from jcrew, white skinnys from forever, and my fav gold sandals. "She had on some fly sandals" - jimmyjones.

nothing major. just a day in the life of moi. take it or leave it. love me or hate me. stiiiiiiill me :)

until next time, peace <3.

ones and twos.

ones and twos.
DJ RASHIDA

she's a turn table phenom, who has worked with many artists such as Jay Z, Kanye West (hehe), and The Roots. But, she got her big break when she was discovered by Prince at her "i do my thang" gig at the House of Blues, on the Sunset Strip. That's where he became her mentor and took her on tour with him to DJ at his after parties and legendary post-Oscar parties.

She is now an in-house DJ for MTVs America's Best Dance Crew. ( What! What! that is my show. im not going to rant about it but, let me just say how upset I am that FANNY PACK got kicked off. yes, i was voting aka texting for them. smh. back to Ra!) "In high school, I'd be sneaking out to go to raves, ska clubs, dance halls." said the 27 year old, ATL native. After graduating, Rashida was spinning at parties for lifestyle brand Frank151, and soon moved to LA, where the rest was history.

She now spends a lot of time spinning in Manhattan hotspots, Tenjune and Butter. Hopefully, if i get a chance to rock my party shoes, ill be able to back it up to her spins. This chick is more than on the come up. She's there. "DJ Rashida has established herself as one of the most sought-after female DJs in the world." And no matter who's in her inner circle, or what renowed artists she's working with. she still seems to stay grounded...unlike the rest of Hollywood. okaaaaaaay!! that always takes a number one artist to off the charts. cant wait for my limelight, lol. seriously joking. http://www.myspace.com/djrashida and www.DJRASHIDA.COM

until next time, peace<3.

THIERRY LE GOUES

Thierry Le Goues, a french fashion photographer, is by far one of my favorite photographers. I was first introduced to his work when I watched the movie Belly. You prob know him from there too, and don't even know it. Check this... do you remember in Tommy's (DMX) house he had some HOT, black and white pictures all over his living room of nude body parts? yea...? THIERRY LE GOUES! hot stuff.

That's from his collection, Soul. Soul is one of two collections, he is best known for. The other one is Popular. Soul was a collection that he put together of black and white photographs containing portraits of some of the most recognizable names of African descent in the modeling world such as Naomi Campbell, Imam, Karen Alexander, Kiara Kaburuki, Lauren Pascale and Adia Couliealy. Soul is erotic, beautiful, and demanding. This is my fav collection of his.

"Soul is an homage to my medium, which is the models who are my inspiration."

^ my favorite.

black IS beautiful. and if someone told you different, introduce them to...

what i want ...

fall into the FALL!

The FALL is coming up and im so excited. its my fav season. i love all the beautiful colors; reds, oranges, brown, ahhh! i love the weather. Cool but not cold, and warm enough not to wear a coat if you just layer up. AND THE CLOTHES!! i love fall clothes. i feel like designers put their all into their fall lines, more than any other season. eek.
I just made room for new clothes when i gave alot to my friends little sister, and the other half of the pile went to Goodwill. ) a pat on the back for me :) so, i have to treat myself. and whats better than a little retail therapy. hehe. so here is my list...

WHAT I WANT ... FOR THE FALL!!
  • CHUNKY HEELED BROWN BOOTS!
  • FRYE RIDING BOOTS!
  • NAVY CORDOUROY SKINNY/STRAIGHT LEG.
  • METALLIC LOAFERS.
  • COLORFUL WORK HEELS.
  • PERFECTLY FITTED BLACK BLAZER.
  • DRESSES! DRESSES! AND MORE DRESSES!
  • already worn in UTILITY JACKET!

and of course i know what i want. but the tricky part is always...where the heck do i find it? i spend much of my time, sadly, flipping through mags. and i always see things i want in them but, thats where it stops. until, now... i went through my recent mags and catalogues to see if i could find any of my fall "wants" in them. and that i did! and whatever i couldnt find in the mags, i took to the next best thing...the internet! but before, i give my card number, and web swipe, im going to check to see if the stores have them first so i can 'x' out the shipping fees :)

heres what i found... so far!

_ fun and flirty w/ boots or flats. no brainer!

clearly, i am on the right path to finding my wants. but just because i want something, does not mean i can find it. urgh. and that sucks. so, i will continue my hunt to find my perfectly fit black blazer and my already worn in utility jacket. in the mean time, i need to save up for all my fall wants. i may have made way in my closet for them already but my wallet is speaking a different language. ha!

i will update you and let you know what i actually get. wants and needs are two different things. i want a lot but do i need it all? NOOO. but will i get it all?.... PROB SO! ha. my birthday is coming up...happy birthday to meeee :)

2GB memory

i'd trade all of my wants for the macbook pro! oh, yes i would! it would be veryy hard, but yesss, i would. i need that in my lifeeee. lol. mommy? if youre reading this... happy birthday, staci-la. (yes, she gave me that horrid nickname. shameful. ) okay. so im going to plot some more on my fall wardrobe in hope that my wishes will come true.

until next time... peace <3.

she's fly.

R I H A N N A
formerly known as Robyn Fenty

"At the young age of 19, Rihanna, the Barbados-born beauty, has already earned the coveted title of international superstar. In just three short years, Rihanna has helped define the path of popular music, accrued multiple #1 hits, two MTV Video Music Awards and three Billboard Awards along her way. In addition to her mind blowing musical successes, Rihanna created a charity organization for impoverished children and has signed on to endorse a wide variety of multi-billion dollar companies including Venus Gillette, Nike and Secret. Most recently, Rihanna was asked to join the ranks of musical icons such as Queen Latifah and Faith Hill as the new face of CoverGirl Cosmetics." via http://www.rihannanow.com/ (her official site).

Rihanna's style has definitely evolved throughout her career... and thank God. because now, she is as, we in the fashion world say (ha, who am i? lol) "FIERCE, DARLING, FIERCE!" She is a style icon to many little teenage girls, who probably hate on her just as much because of her "we are just friends" boyfriend, C.Breezy aka Chris Brown. I would have stepped my game up too if i had him on my arm. Seriously joking, lol. So, now Ri-Ri, as the mags call her, is edgy, fun, trendy, and demanding the world to take notice. So we shall...

grammys.

bet awards.

kids choice awards '07.

kids choice awards '08.

personally, i appreciate her OWN street style than dimed out for shows and awards. i feel like celebs do so much of the dressing up, with so many of their entourage's opinions in their ear. its fun to see some one with actual style of their own... and it actually looks good. she takes risks, and basically wears what she wants. it just so happens that we LOVE IT! GO RI-RI. can i get some of your umbrella shade? ey-ey-ey!

"in my everyday, i just love to be casual, cool, comfortable

... i think im a rockstar!"

thats what she said.

Rihanna is gracing the cover of Elle's June 2008 issue. Check it out.

She's definitely fly.

below is a link to check her out behind the scenes of the shoot.
