the GLOW IN THE DARK TOUR

featuring N.E.R.D, LUPE FIASCO and head lining KanYe West !

yesterday, i had the honor of going to the GLOW IN THE DARK tour headlining kanYe. i am a big fan of his, not only of his music/producer skills, also of his swag, style and confidence. kanYe is the shit, believe the hype! i got my tickets two weeks ago (yes, i know that is very late for purchasing especially because this concert was already in NYC Madison Square Garden on May 13th and he extended the tour by popular demand) and ever since, I have been mad hyped! two weeks straight, N.E.R.D., LUPE and KanYE were in heavy rotation. i was getting concert ready.

of course my outfit was a main objective. isnt it always? what to wear...what to wear? i originally wanted to wear a vintage tee, skinnys, and some type of cute flats. but as time went on, i kinda switched it up a little bit. i wound up wearing a black ella moss backless vest, lime green bra, white skinnys, a silver studded belt, and michael kors wedges, accessorized with a lime green woven straw clutch, and silver bangles and earrings. so, i definitely looked cute, so i think. lol.

back to the point. so we were hearing buzz that N.E.R.D wasn't going to perform at our show and not that i was excited to see them, but i wasn't too bummed. but, they were there. and that's the first thing he said when he came out. 'i know a lot of people were saying we wouldn't be here, but how could he not? its NEW YORK CITY! what kinda shit would that be?' and he was soo right. how could you not end the tour off right? good call, pharrell. star trek, lol! i saw their Conan O'Brien performance the night before and i was not impressed...at all. (tough critic?) but, suprisingly, i was digging them at the concert. maybe it was the atmosphere, maybe they really did kill it. but, i said two thumbs up N.E.R.D!

short break. but now its LUPE's turn...YESSSS! now lemme explain. i've always been a Lupe fan, but this concert reassured me why. WHY? because HE RIPPED THE HELL OUT OF IT! i didn't know he had as much swag as he did. homies outfit, dime! and his stage presence was amazing. "like wooord, lupe? all of that?" YUP! ALL OF THAT! omg. i thought i was only going to enjoy the songs i really knew...nope, enjoyed his whole set! it sounds kinda crazy but i didn't want him to leave the stage. i was kinda shocked i had that reaction, because in all reality, i was there for kanYe. so anything that could make see him quicker, i was all about. but, lupe definitely left me wanting more. my favorite song hands down was "hip hop saved my life". ahhhhh! i must invest in another Lupe Fiasco concert because really, i am shocked that he rocked it like that. i cant get over this! listening to his cd does not do him justice. hes sooo much better in concert, like sooooo much better! yesssss! good job mr. cool !!

now this break wasn't so short. i knew it would be awhile before kanYe would come out because i'm a feign and i googled AND asked a friend that went to august 5th show. so i already had the scoop. he had an interactive stage that took some time to put up. but it was soooo worth the wait. the set, SICK! he was on another planet, literally. he must have put those visual engineers to work, because looking at the screen was like seeing some type of IMAX movie in 3-D on narcotics, lol. that's how crazy it was, no exxag. just imagine, you know how kanYe is, you've heard stories. man oh man! i prob wont be telling you all that you would want to know but please bare with me, im still in shock. i'll tell you the songs he did and then let the pics speak the rest. his set included : good morning, i wonder, heard 'em say, THROUGH THE WIRE, CHAMPION, get 'em high, diamonds are forever, can't tell me nothing, flashing lights, spaceship, ALL FALLS DOWN, gold digger [minus his lil dance :( ], good life, jesus walks, hey mama, stronger, homecoming, and TOUCH THE SKY feat. LUPE!!!!!!

favorite song? TOUCH THE SKY! best of both worlds. speaking of, no guest performances, right? WRONG!!!! mr.hova himself came out. oh, thank you! that was the icing on the cake :) sorry no pics. my camera died mid kanYe, which allowed me to do exactly what i was supposed to be doing... "I...WAS....DOING....MY....THANG!" lol.
